The Baltimore Orioles began competing in Major League Baseball in 1954. Since their inaugural season, the Orioles have become known as one of the best franchises in all of sports. Their class, determination, and great players have made this possible. Although they have not had as much success as some other teams in the league, the Orioles have had their share of good times.
The Orioles played their home games at Memorial Stadium from 1951 to 1991. In 1992, the team moved to Oriole Park at Camden Yards, and this is where they still play home games. Camden Yards is known across the country for being one of the nicest parks in the game. Not only is it spacious enough for fans to enjoy, but the design and atmosphere also make it a top draw.
The Orioles have won three World Series Titles; 1966, 1970, and 1983. They have also won several American League Pennants; 1966, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1979, and 1983. As you can see, the Orioles have a long history of success. Even though they have been struggling as of late, it is safe to say that the city of Baltimore is still behind the team. It is only a matter of time until they break through, and make their way back to the playoffs.
The Baltimore Orioles have been playing in the league for more than 50 years. It is safe to say that many more good years are lying ahead.
