US Cellular Field Information:
US Cellular Field is located in Chicago, Illinois, and has been hosting events since April of 1991. Although this is not the newest venue in Major League Baseball, it is surely one of the nicest. Not only does it have all of the modern amenities that fans have come to expect, but the concessions are also top of the line and site lines of the field perfect from every seat in the house. From 1991 to 2002 this stadium was known as Comiskey Park II. In 2003 US Cellular bough the naming rights to the stadium for a cost of $68 million. Many locals and fans refer to this stadium as "The Cell."
The Chicago White Sox of the MLB is the only primary tenant of US Cellular Field. They play all of their home games at the stadium, and have done so since it opened in 1991. Capacity of this stadium is only 40,615 making it one of the smaller venues in the league. US Cellular Field may be best known for the fact that it is was the last stadium built before the new wave of "retro styled" stadiums took over.
In addition to the general seats, 84 luxury suites are also available at US Cellular Field. This is in addition to the thousands of club seats that have access to a wait staff, a close in concourse, and bar style concession stands with televisions.
But although US Cellular Field has a lot to offer, there are several renovations projects scheduled to run through 2007. These renovations are meant to make the park more fan friendly, and include things such as new restaurants and premium seating areas.
With so much to offer it is easy to see why US Cellular Field is one of the most popular stadiums in the league.
