Kaufman Stadium Information:
Kauffman Stadium is located in Kansas City, Missouri, and has been open for business since April 10, 1973. Even though Kauffman Stadium is one of the older venues in the country, it still has a lot to offer. Not to mention the fact that this stadium has seen many great moments over the last 30 plus years. From 1973 to 1993 Kauffman Stadium was known as Royals Stadium, and many fans still call it by this name today.
The Kansas City Royals of the MLB is the only team that plays its home games at Kauffman Stadium. With a capacity of 40,625 Kauffman Stadium is one of the smallest venues in all of Major League Baseball. But with that in mind, this venue still has a lot to offer both the Royals and the fans that follow them year in and year out. For an older stadium this venue offers great site lines of the field, and above average concessions. When you put these two things together you have a great fan experience for anybody who shows up at Kauffman Stadium for a Royals game.
There have been many great moments at Kauffman Stadium over the years. Some of the more popular ones include Nolan Ryan's no hitter in 1973, hosting the MLB All Star Game in 1973, hosting the first World Series game in 1980, and many more.
Renovations of Kauffman Stadium have been scheduled, and they are expected to be complete by 2010. These updates will add to the already great atmosphere that is offered to fans. It is safe to say that once these are complete that Kauffman Stadium will once again be among the best stadiums in the league.
